An 85 year old Orford man is recovering today after being dragged from the water near Triabunna Wharf yesterday afternoon.
The man was rescued by locals after his vehicle veered off Triabunna Wharf as he was maneuvering on the Esplanade adjacent to the marina.
A number of locals quickly removed the driver from the water and contacted local emergency services.
The man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported by ambulance to the Triabunna Medical Centre for treatment. The man was uninjured, but understandably in shock and following a medical check up he was later discharged.
The vehicle remained in the water overnight and is expected to be removed today.
