Overnight Fire Causes Quarter Million Dollar Damage

A structure fire in the north of the state has caused over a quarter - million - dollars damage last night.


At around 11pm (8/6/17) emergency services attended a report of a structure fire at an unoccupied residence on Cressy Road in Longford, South Of Launceston.


The residence was engulfed in flames prior to the arrival of emergency services and while the Tasmania Fire Service were able to extinguish the fire, the building was destroyed. Damage is estimated to be in excess of $250,000. 

Fortunately, no one was injured during the fire, and the cause is still being investigated as it remains unknown at present.
