Tasmanian's recognised in Aus day Honours

Some well known local figures have made it onto the Australia Day honours list including Tassie's first female Governor Kate Warner who received a Companion of the order of Australia for her work in law reform and higher education,

 

Some of the unsung heroes have also been recognised including Senior Sergeant Danny Hilton for his work in various areas of policing, including youth services and drug investigation.

Fire fighter Jeremy Smith was also on the list - he's been with the Tas Fire Service for 29 years.

Ambulance service medals went to Monica Baker from Hobart and Kaye Fox from Nubeena.

Also on the list , architect Robert Morris Nunn - the man being so many great developments in Hobart,  QC Christopher Wright for his contribution to the legal industry, educator William Mulford and volunteer Michael Legge for his tireless effort with the Red Cross.
