In the wake of Operation Crossroads there are serious concerns Tasmania is experiencing a drug driving epidemic.
The Easter Police road blitz saw forty three people caught with illicit drugs in their system which is double last years result.
Previous statistics indicate that the most common drugs found in these tests are cannabis and amphetamine.
One of the biggest concerns is obviously that some drivers continue to drive after consuming alcohol and drugs.
Tasmania Police have urged people to plan ahead when consuming alcohol and either take a taxi, walk or arrange a designated driver.
