Police have arrested three people for serious firearm offences following a search in the lower South-East on Saturday.
As part of an ongoing investigation into recent firearms thefts in the region, Detectives from Mount Gambier CIB, Serious Firearm Crime Investigation Branch and Millicent CIB attended a property in the lower South East on Saturday 25 August.
Police seized seven firearms from the property which were allegedly stolen during break-ins at Tarpeena, Penola and Millicent.
Three people at the property, all from the lower South-East, were subsequently arrested.
Two men aged 33 and 35, and a woman aged 24 were charged with a number of firearms offences including possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of ammunition.
All three were refused bail and appeared in the Mt Gambier Magistrates Court on Monday where they were all remanded in custody. Police investigations are continuing.
