Two teenagers have been arrested and charged, as investigations continue into the deaths of chickens at Naracoorte.
Officers were called to a high school on Stewart Terrace, responding to reports of dead chickens.
Officers allege 10 chickens had been let out of their pens and attacked during the night.
The incident follows the killing of two ducks on a Naracoorte private property.
Officers believe the two had also broken into a Park Terrace building and stolen food.
A 14 and 15-year-old boy will appear on charges of ill treatment of animals, serious criminal trespass and theft.
The 14-year-old Naracoorte boy will face Naracoorte Youth Court in the future.
The 15-year-old of no fixed address, has been refused bail and has appeared in local court.
