20,000 daffodils arrived in Mackay today ready for Friday 24th August, when Australia will be celebrating Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day.

The annual event is an opportunity for community volunteers to sell daffodils and merchandise and collect donations for the Cancer Council. This year, Cancer Council is aiming to raise $4 million nationwide for cancer research.

Cancer Council Qld CEO Chris McMillan encouraged local residents to support the cause by purchasing daffodil bunches or donating.

“Every daffodil sold or dollar raised will enable us to continue investing in lifesaving cancer research programs, giving hope for better treatments and early detection methods.”

- Chris McMillan

So grab yourself a bunch of daffodils, or gift them to a loved one, in support of Cancer Council this Friday.
