A Mackay man sick of workout tunes has been fined for getting physical. 31 year old Shannon Davis faced Mackay Magistrates Court on Tuesday for the Feb 8 incident on Brisbane st. Around 6:30 that morning he approached a group working out near his home yelling and swearing about their loud music. He says they have been playing it from 4:30 every weekday morning for the past two years and he had enough. He left only to return with  a thick chain and padlock which he raised when he believed one of the group members may hit him. He unplugged the speakers and stormed home

 

A man has faced Mackay Magistrates Court for accessing child pornography. The Dysart man appeared on Monday but hasn't entered a plea. His case has been adjourned to later this month and his bail has been continued

 

Renewable Jet Fuel could soon be manufactured in Mackay. The Palaszczuk Government says they will support US company Mercurius to deliver the project. The bio refinery plants will be built in Mackay and Gladstone and are predicted to attract an investment value of 11 million dollars. Member for Mackay Julieanne Gilbert says the new project would include the whole of Central Queensland

Community grants totaling just over seventy grand have been approved for Mackay groups. The funds being granted in yesterday's ordinary council meeting. The next round of Community Grants is now open. Not-for-profit groups can apply at mackay.smartgrants.com.au with applications closing April 1st.

Two young BMX riders from Sarina are gearing up to compete at the Australian National BMX Championships. They are training on the bike most nights as well as weight and boxing training to prepare. They'll face off against 2,000 other riders from around the country

 

Mackay mountain biker Peter Lister cleans up at the National X-C-O Championships. The two time national series champ had targeted the national championship in Armadale with his hard work paying off. He won the division by 23 seconds - he started and finished first setting the pace for his competition
