The PALMYRA Drag club revs up for upgrades. After Cyclone Debbie washed away buildings and ripped up fences a funding boost from the Federal Government was given to provide new hope. One hundred and sixty thousand dollars has been announced to restore the drag way

This week we celebrate NAIDOC Week in MACKAY with the theme because of her we can. Mackay Health's Regional Indigenous Operations Manager Trudy Sebasio says it's a massive event for local Indigenous women.

MACKAY'S Early years services receive grant funding. Three local services have received Small Assistance Grant funding this year of up to twenty five thousand dollars each. These include the George Street Neighborhood Centre, After School and Holiday Care Mackay and Mackay Kindergarten and Preschool

 LOCAL SPORT:

MACKAY METEORS are confident they'll hold on to their position at the top of the leaderboard. Facing off against 13th ranked Gladstone Port City Power at home tomorrow night.

 

THE MAGPIES are up against GOLD COAST UNITED this weekend.. It'll be a close fight for a win -- THE MAGPIES sitting 12th on the ladder -- the South East team a few places ahead on 9th. Magpies player Lewis Farquhar says he's stepping up in the absence of Kyle.
