Adani's proposed mine South west of Mackay is one step closer with the Senate passing amendments to the Native Title Act. While Senior spokesperson for the Wangan and Jagalingou Traditional Owners Council, Adrian Burragubba, says Adani's problems with his people are not solved this week. He says a trial to decide the fate of Adani's supposed deal with the Traditional Owners is scheduled for the Federal Court in March 2018. Northern Australian Minister Matt Canavan says there are still six outstanding court cases regarding Native Title but Adani's unfazed. One is the Whitsunday Residents Against Dumping group’s case who have lodged an appeal on the Abbot Point port approval

Mackay women are retiring with around 39% less superannuation than men. Over the last 5 year's the retirement gender gap has been increasing. QSuper CEO, Michael Pennisi says has some helpful hints for locals.

 The Whitsundays has come out on top as one of the destinations in the new, limited-edition Australian Monopoly game. It will be launched in July with one of the most sought after spots on the board, Bond Street being secured by the Whitsundays.

It's an away game for our Meteors and Meteorettes this weekend when they take on the Gold Coast Rollers. The Meteors are currently sitting second on the QBL ladder. The Souths Suburban bowls club will be on show in October. They've been selected to host the 2017 Queensland Districts Mixed Pairs finals.
