31 beaches around Mackay are facing erosion problems in the wake of Cyclone Debbie.  The Mackay council's now calls on the State and Federal Government to increase the funding category rating from C to D. It comes as council will have to pay at least $30M million to repair or replace damages.


Over 6,000 homes around Mackay could see their insurance premiums go down due to new modelling. An Aerial Survey finding that of the over 12,000 buildings previously thought to be at risk of being inundated by a once in a 100 year flood, only just over 5300 actually are.  IAG, the parent company of NRMA are already asking council to release the data.


The long weekend's just hours away and The Whitsunday’s is still one of Queensland's most in-demand regional destinations for Easter.
Wotif.com Travel Specialist, Kirsty La Bruniy says we've come in at number 4 in the state and number 5 nationally on their list.

While Hamilton Island will be open for Easter and will be at 80% capacity over the next ten days. Their 1200 strong staff getting the island back up and running just ten days on from the cyclone.


A local vet's spreading the message this Easter to not feed our fury friends chocolate. Dr Olivia Lemmon from the Northern Beaches Vet Hospital says no matter how good their puppy dog eyes are chocolate's a no go.

Fingers are cross for four Mackay girls who are competing at the National Age Swimming Champs this weekend. They're Bayley Sleeman, Emma Manzelmann, Chloe Osborne and Tiffany Osborne.


While all the pressures on for local squash player Hayley Hankinson. She's off to New Zealand on Friday to take on a Trans-Tasman competition as second seed.
