The search is over for the 47 year old Kevin Formosa reported missing from Mackay. He disappeared on Monday but is now home safe and well with police finding him last night. A 52 year old Mandalay woman is due to front the Proserpine Magistrates Court after allegedly blowing a blood alcohol reading almost six times the legal limit. Police allege the caught the woman on Mandalay Road in Airlie Beach after watching a car reverse into a gutter on Tuesday night. 27 alleged drink drivers have been caught on Mackay police district roads so far for the month

While police are investigating after thieves were caught taking off with a nit comb and body strapping tape from a store on Victoria Street in Mackay. Police say the man and woman concealed the items under the arms and inside their pants on Tuesday afternoon. Anyone with information on the matter is urged to call Crime Stoppers.

New stats are out, revealing Mackay's richest and poorest suburbs, with Richmond coming out on top. According to 2016 census data, Eungella is on the bottom with the median weekly income dropping more than 27%.

Consultation is under way in the Sarina Town Centre (Broad Street) Revitalisation Project. The preferred master plan is set to be finalised in October.

Mackay's Dane Gagai is making a name for himself being the first winger to win the Wally Lewis Medal for State of Origin player of the series. Queenslanders are celebrating this morning after our 16 point win over New South Wales last night.

The Mackay Meteors and Meteorettes will tomorrow take on sides from up north. They'll battle it out against the Cairns Marlins and Dolphins before they take on the Townsville Heat and Flames on Saturday.
