The Department of Main Roads and Road Safety are confirming 12 slips on the Sarina Range so far two of which are major. While despite the Sarina-Marlborough Road being a major link there's still no official word as to when it'll be fixed. The destruction to road during Cyclone Debbie is forcing the McNamara family to move.

Minister for Housing and Public Works Mick de Brenni says Northern Beaches skateboarders will have to apply for funding like everyone else to get their new stake park. He's responded following a 2060-signature petition for the skate park being presented to the Queensland Parliament.

CASA's Mackay Homeless Expo is back on this year. They're expecting more people from differing socio economic backgrounds to come forward needing assistance following Cyclone Debbie. Kath Taylor from CASA says they're moving venues this year.

We can score ourselves from free tickets to Saturday’s NQ Cowboys game in Townsville. The Cowboys have donated thousands of free tickets to the Mackay and Whitsundays councils to spread around in the wake of the cyclone. They started being handed out in the Whitsundays on Wednesday and will be given out from the Mackay Council building today.

The Sarina Relay for Life event gets underway at the showgrounds at 2 tomorrow afternoon.

LOCAL SPORT

The Mackay Cutters will go head to head with the East Tigers this weekend It’s a home game for our boys but they're hoping it impress after they lost to the South’s Logan Magpies in Round seven. Coach Steve Sheppard says the tigers won't be going easy on them.

AFL Football returns to Harrup Park this ANZAC Day. The traditional City v Country matches will be on. The teams have been announced with players from the Mackay City Hawks North Mackay Saints and Eastern Swans making up the men’s City team.
