Figures are showing more and more people in Mackay are starting full time work. Conus Consultancy's recent employment data is revealing trend employment figures for Mackay is reaching a three-year-high. We have the most people under 45 with full-time jobs since records began in 1998.

Mackay Councillors are set to vote on pet registration fees today. They could decide to keep them as is or adopt the proposed changes of lowering registration fees for not desexed dogs and increasing it for those desexed.

There are a lot of hungry birds and mammals around Mackay and the Whitsundays. They've lost their homes and their food source following Cyclone Debbie blowing away flowers and seeds. Reef Catchments’ Coasts and Biodiversity Officer Cass Hayward is asking us to help them.

Thousands of locals attended marches and services for Anzac day yesterday. Around 5 thousand people marched through Mackay's streets to the main Anzac Day Service at Jubilee Park While around 5 thousand people turned up to the dawn service earlier at the park.

Landholders across the Mackay only have a couple of days left to register for ChemClear collection The program is touring the state in June for the first time in over 18 months ChemClear Manager Lisa Nixon explaining what the program is.

 Our AFL boys from the City are too strong for the guys from the Country. City taking out yesterday's Anzac day AFL match at Harrup Park. Despite Country upping their game in the second half they couldn’t catch up after trailing by about 40 points going into the long break.

Both our local basketball men and woman are in high spirits after some wins at the weekend. The Meteorettes taking out the Rockhampton Cyclones 88 points to 39 at the trials on Saturday. And the Meteors getting on top of their Rocky opponents 96 to 65.
