Four men are lucky to be alive following a buggy accident on Hamilton Island. Two men have been airlifted to the Mackay Base hospital and one has a suspected head injury.

 Our young Basketballers from Mackay are nursing some losses in the under 23 Tropical League Tournament. The young Meteors went without a win after taking on more experienced sides from Townsville, Cairns and Rockhampton.

The Pioneer Valley Golf Club's next ladies comp kicks off today and will be a Single Stroke. While the Vets played a Foursomes event recently and Russell Gilchrist and Chris Cullinane took it out.
