Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a 52-year-old man reported missing from Mackay. Graham Miles was last seen yesterday afternoon on Shakespeare Street and has not been in contact since. His disappearance is out of character and he has an intellectual disability which limits his speech. Anyone with information on his whereabouts it urged to contact crime stoppers. While the search is still continuing for 58 year old John Frost who’s been reported missing from Mount Pleasant.

Initial estimates are putting the value of the Queensland sugarcane crop lost to Tropical Cyclone Debbie at $150M. In the hardest hit districts of Proserpine, Mackay and Plane Creek we have seen 100 percent of the crop damaged in some way. CANEGROWERS Mackay CEO Kerry Latter says it’s not good news.

There's a raft of financial support programs now available to North Queenslander's affected by cyclone Debbie. All 11 assistance packages through the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements have been activated for Mackay and the Whitsundays. More than 7,000 payments have been made.

The Cowboys are coming to visit the cyclone ravaged areas in our region today. They'll be at a meet and greet at the Whitsunday Sports Park from 11:45 this morning Whitsunday's Mayor Andrew Wilcox says social projects are just as important as the physical ones.

A group of anglers have helped to rescue more than 100 barramundi. They were below the Kinchant Dam spillway.
