The Mackay and Whitsunday's resilience post cyclone Debbie has been shown in recent trade result figures. The Port of Mackay recording its third best annual trade performance by volume in its history. 

The parents of murdered Mackay man Timothy Pullen are pushing hard for the LNP's No Body No Parole legislation to be passed. Leanne and Gary Pullen joining Tim Mander in Rocky yesterday to promote the policy. One of the people charged with Timothy's death in 2012 is set to be released on parole soon.

Music, food, a fun run, fireworks and even comedy -- the Whitsunday Reef Festival has it all. The event kicks off on Thursday night. Whitsunday Reef Festival committee Chairperson Margie Murphy says every year the festival gets better.
