A close call has been captured on Police dashcam near KOUMALA. A 32 year old Shoal Point woman was given two on the spot fines when she  overtook a truck on the Bruce Highway into oncoming traffic. She admitted she couldn't see the traffic due to glare and that she hadn’t had a break in several hours

An abandoned boat will soon leave the shores of Whitsunday Island. MV Banks,  a 30 metre steel hull ship has sat stranded near Cid Harbour since washing up in Cyclone Debbie. She was towed to deeper waters late last week and remained anchored over the weekend to check for leaks and pollution hazards

A Paget based energy and mining specialist is taking solar to the mines. It comes in the form of a fully self-contained EcoHabitat living unit generating its own solar electricity. The system doesn’t require a fit out from an electrician or plumber and was displayed at the recent Myriad Festival

24 young Australians have docked in MACKAY after 11 days out at sea on the Sail Training Ship Young Endeavour. Travelling from Brisbane up the North Coast -- the tall ship is now welcoming a fresh batch of youths. The program has helped teach more than 13 thousand young people valuable leadership, communication and teamwork skills. Lieutenant Commander Andrew Callander says they'll be departing from the region in the next few days.
