Two closed circuit television centres are set to be installed in the Sarina and Marian town centres if the LNP wins the November 25 election. The $100,000 commitment for the two hubs will be announced today by Mirani candidate Kerry Latter. It's hoped to combat the crime

Exciting news for Whitsundays residents and tourists. $5M of new funding has been announced to build new eco-lodges for those travelling to the island. Environment Minister Steven Miles says the region will continue to grow as funding is allocated.

Mackay Taxi workers are calling all election parties to come forward with their plans to ease the divide between official vehicles and ride sharing services. Mackay-based Taxi Council Queensland president Max McBride says they're being crippled with costs.

 

In a big move by Whitsunday Regional Council- members of the public will be able to swim at all pools and waterparks for free come January 1. At a meeting in Proserpine councillors voted Bowen Swimming Pool and Proserpine Swimming Pool would drop their entry fees.

In cricket Walkerston was no match for the Norths at the weekend with first grade opener Mitchell English putting the team on notice with a supreme 220 run knock in the first innings. The teams competed in the Mackay District association two-day clash at George Gorrie Oval.

 

90 players brought their bat and ball to the court at the weekend for the annual Squash 52 Cup. The attendee numbers were up for 74 for the Brisbane street business.

The results of the Same Sex Marriage Plebiscite are released at 9am QLD time today. Member for Dawson, George Christensen has stated that he will follow his electorate on how they voted when it comes to making Same Sex Marriage legalised in parliament.
