The Cost of Living scorecard -has been revealed just 3 days out from state election polling and LNP Shadow Agriculture Minister Dale Last has paid Mackay a visit to explain the impact the two major parties would have on the results. Mr Last says there’s a huge comparison is electricity- the LNP will save locals $780 dollars compared to Labor's $50.

15 witnesses have been called to give evidence at a coronial inquest at Mackay Courthouse- reliving a crash on September 25 2011. The inquest is into a Walkerston incident- killing Lardeen Glennon and her 14-year-old son Matthew. Keziah Sulliivan from 9 News Mackay has the latest.

A re-elected Palaszczuk  Government has committed to a much needed fencing upgrade at the Slade Point State Primary School. Member for Mackay Julieanne Gilbert says the $200,000 upgrade will include almost a 1,000 linear metres of fencing- 5 double gates and five single gates in addition to the removal of old fencing.

LOCAL SPORT

The Mackay Cyclones swimming squad members travelled West at the weekend for one last swim meet before the travel to Brisbane to compete in the State Championships on December 9. Cyclones' Charlie Wilmore won the age 16 years girls age champion- Adam Smit the 15 years boys.

In Hockey Mackay's Matthew Swann will play for the Kookaburras in the Men's FIH world League final in India.
