A Mackay man is today waking up $100 thousand dollars richer after winning first prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot. The regular player purchased his winning entry from Moores News and Casket on Shakespeare Street in town. It's the first time the newsagency has sold first prize.

The LNP Government have announced they'll retain the three net-free fishing zones in Queensland if elected. Deputy Leader Deb Frecklington made the announcement yesterday afternoon in Mackay alongside Shadow Agriculture Minister Dale Last and two other MP's. Ms Frecklington says the zones include Cairns, Mackay and Rockhampton.
