Mackay's Meteorettes are feeling confident that new coach Ian Haughton will take them to the top in the 2018 basketball season. Coach Haughton is replacing outgoing coach Carl Teske. Business development manager Wade Rebetzke says it's a real confidence booster to have a locals supporting locals.

Former Mackay Cutters Captain Tyson Martin is returning for one last shot at the premiership before he's set to retire and focus on his new fatherly duties.
