A business in Bucasia has been broken into. Around 3:30 yesterday morning someone forced their way inside the Downie Avenue store. The thief allegedly making off with up to ten grand worth of tobacco. If anyone has information on the incident please call Crimestoppers

Mackay locals could be the big winners when it comes to the Land 400 deal. The federal government securing the contract for phase 2 of the agreement, seeing hundreds of jobs created servicing military vehicles. Minister for Natural Resources Mines and Energy Dr Anthony Lynham says it's setting up our kids for the future.

Mackay and The Whitsundays locals can get involved in the 20th anniversary of The World's Greatest Shave. It's helping to raise much needed funds for those affected by children’s cancer with some local establishments putting their hand up to hold special events over the week. General Manager of Brandon Marketing Susie Howard says the more awareness we can raise the more lives we'll save.

 

The National Black Dog Ride makes its way to Mackay. The 1 Dayer aims to raise awareness of depression and Suicide. It kicks off with Breakfast at Bunnings North Mackay with participants riding through Pioneer Valley via Marian to Mirani. Registrations open at 7 with the ride kicking off at 10

 

A cigarette bandit has been caught on security cameras, smashing into a businesses and swiping more than $10,000 worth of cigarettes.

LOCAL SPORT 

The Mackay Magpies Crusaders are ready ahead of another home game. Round seven of the National Premiere League kicking off this Saturday night. The boys will face off against the S-W-Q Thunder with the main event starting at 10. 

The Mackay Cutters will face off against Easts Tigers in an epic away game. The boys headed to Suzuki Stadium this Saturday afternoon. Under 18s warming up the crowds from 11:30 with the main event getting under way at 3

Magpies Crusaders United will be aiming to snap a run of near misses, in their NPL clash with South West Queensland.
