Shandee Blackburn was just 23-years-old when she was stabbed and left to die in a gutter. A man was charged with her murder but later acquitted. But Shandee's family aren't giving up on finding justice. They say they have new information that could point to her killer. Vision from A Current Affair. 

 

Get ready for some record breaking weather Mackay. The predicted heatwave coming our way has been upgraded to extreme. Bureau of Meteorology forecasters predicting the heat will stay with us from Sunday to Monday. Mackay is looking to sit in the high 30s for most of next week

M-P for the Whitsundays Jason Cositgan isn't happy Tiger are cancelling their flights to paradise. He's hoping a review will be done to save them, or someone will step in to pick them up. He says he doesn't want anyone to lose hope for tourism in the region.

Enough is Enough for the Mackay community. An anti-bullying walk taking place this Sunday from the showgrounds to show support to those affected. Organiser, Dianne Kendrick says there's been a huge amount donated for the day.

The Mackay Safety Circus hits the road. The project is hosted by the Mackay Police District in partnership with CQU to teach grade 3 students about safety. Kicking off on today it covers off on three main areas of study. Protective behavior messages, non-motorised transport, and bullying bystander behavior. The 50 minute show is accessible through schools with information available on the Safety Circus Facebook page

The Mackay Mavericks to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation. Facing off against Townsville on Saturday at 4pm all players will be wearing pink socks in solidarity hey’re hoping to highlight issues around bullying and show support to breast cancer sufferers
