Police are looking for a potential burglar in Beaconsfield. Someone allegedly removed pop rivets on a front window screen to get into a home on Cutler Drive last Sunday. They've then searched the home knocking a mirror from a vanity cabinet causing significant damage. While nothing has been confirmed as stolen yet Police are hoping any witnesses might be able to shed light on the incident

 

Another phone scam has been identified in Mackay. A resident has lost a large amount of money after a call came through saying they had a technical issue in their telecommunication provider. They were convinced to allow a program to be downloaded onto their system to fix router issues. Asked to make an online payment for the repairs their information was then captured. Police ask residents to remain alert when dealing with companies over the phone 

Mackay Special School has said thank you for kind donation. A larger bus to meet increasing demand was presented to the School several weeks ago and they met with donors Friday in a special assembly. The bus allows more than one child to be taken into the community at any one time and has increased wheelchair facilities. Fundraiser Paul Smith says it was meeting a local parent that got the idea started

Two highly respected Intrust Super Cup Premiership winning Captains have been announced to guide Queensland’s emerging Indigenous talent. The QRL confirming the appointments of Kerion Lanmer  and Jardine Bobongie for the Queensland Murri Under 16s team. Bobongie captained the 2013 Mackay Cutters side to the Premiership. The pair have played a combined 252 Intust Super Games

Mackay Magpies player Michael Lyall has been named in Football Queensland’s 2018 team of the season. It follows the sides inaugural year playing in the NPL. The award is the tip of a massive season that saw the striker cleaning up at the presentation night a few weeks ago
