Mackay Police charge a man for grievous bodily harm in Andergrove. The 26 year old man allegedly assaulting a 36 year old man at a home on Bedford Road. Officers called to the scene just after 10 Friday morning to reports a man was lying unconscious in a driveway. He was transported to Mackay Base Hospital in a stable condition. His alleged attacker will face Mackay Magistrates Court today

 

Queensland Fisheries ramp up patrols in the face of increased turtle deaths around Seaforth. Reports of daily mature deaths in the net free zone of Cape Hillsborough in recent days. While there have been reports from locals Queensland Fisheries are yet to see any dead turtles in the area

A miraculous tale of survival for a lucky dog in Mackay's North. Lacey brought in to the Northern Beaches Vet Hospital following a taipan bite. The one year old dog heading home after just four days in hospital and is on the mend

 

Outrage as fuel prices burn holes in the pockets of drivers in Mackay. Regional fuel stations are being slammed over the increase.. with some stations charging around 148 cents per litre for unleaded fuel. Which gives them a profit of almost 16 cents per litre in indicative retail margins. RACQ spokesperson Renee Smith is urging motorists to avoid fuel stations that are overcharging.
