A man has been charged following multiple assaults on Lamberts Beach. The 31 year old man allegedly walking up to an 18 year old woman in January grabbing her several times. It's also believed he lay on top of another 22 year old woman sunbathing on the beach last week. He has been denied bail and will face Mackay Magistrates Court today

A domestic violence high risk response team goes ahead in Mackay despite a lack of funding. Mackay Women's Centre and key government agencies joining up to streamline support services. Allowing for timely and accessible criminal justice responses for victims. The State funding is still 12 months away but the task force will commence as we step into Domestic and Family Violence Prevention month

BHP starts recruiting it's next cohort of Mackay locals. An information session held Wednesday at the Rydges Mackay Suites from 5:30. The businesses seeking a diverse mix of locals from the region with an interest in learning a trade and working in the mining industry. Hiring managers and current apprentices attending each of the sessions to provide insight into the four year program with BMA, With some 40 positions up for grabs you won't want to miss out

Educators in Mackay are invited to add more tools to their belts. A free Healthy Educators' Program will be held on Thursday. Cancer Council CEO Chris McMillan says the workshop is filled with valuable health and lifestyle information. To register, head to their website or call the CANCER COUNCIL on 13-11-20.

The only region with the employment rate that is less than 4%. It's the lowest unemployment rate in the state. New data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics has again put Mackay on a pedestal.

A night of firsts in Bundaberg for two Central Queensland lads. Mackay boxer Norman Hartigan taking on his first novice fight with an opponent from Roma Both boys fighting well but the lad from Roma got the win with a longer reach.

A tough game saw some good signs and some things to work on for the Mackay Cutters. After only 4 conversions to the Seagull’s 9 our boys suffering a 52-24 loss

Overnight temperatures falling to between 13 and 19 with daytime temperatures reaching around 30.
