The Mount Pleasant number one reservoir is being refilled following refurbishments. The two point three million dollar works securing its services for at least another 50 years according to Council. The reservoir is one of the oldest in Mackay constructed in the late 19-50s

Mackay's future mining female leaders to be congratulated in a visit from Downer. Senior Downer reps offering encouragement to 5 C-Q University students studying engineering and environmental science with the C-Q UniCares Downer Scholarships. The women each receiving three thousand dollars a year in funding support to assist them in their studies and two years of full time employment with Downer following their degrees. They'll present the scholarships on Thursday

Mackay's Community Accommodation and Support Agency is hosting a Homeless Expo. Taking place on Wednesday at the CQUni's Sydney Street Campus to provide services and help to those in need. Running from 10am until 1pm the event will distribute 150 food hampers, ladies vanity bags, swags, blankets, clothes, books and toiletries. Mackay GP Superclinic is in the running to become the General Practice of the Year. They've been nominated in the Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited Excellence Awards. Owner John McIntosh says he's proud of his staff.

The man arrested after a footchase through Paget has fronted court on Friday for a string of offences.

It appears the Mackay Cutters placed the right faith in re-signing coach Steve Sheppard. Facing off in an away game for round nine coming away with a 26-10 win

Mackay Meteors and Meteorettes see a night of disparity against Cairns over the weekend. The Meteors holding in there to pull off a 92-88 win against the Marlins. While the Metoerettes went down 86-73 against the Dolphins

Cloudy. Medium chance of showers, most likely in the late morning and afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm from the late morning, manly inland. Winds SE 20 to 30 km/h becoming light in the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 15 and 19 with daytime temperatures reaching 23 to 29.
