Traffic was down to one lane across the Edmund Casey Bridge in Mackay after a serious crash. Three people involved In a single car rollover around three thirty yesterday afternoon. All of them taken to the Mackay base hospital. Investigations are continuing into what caused the crash.

 A possible irukandji sting in the Whitsundays. The 23 year old stung at Langford Island yesterday afternoon. It’s not known if it was from a irukandji. He remains in hospital but is in a stable condition.

 Great news for years 12's in the Mackay and Whitsunday region. The state government announcing they'll now be able to apply for fee- free training up to twelve months after they graduate from their final high school year. The initiative hoping to get more skilled workers into the Queensland workforce. Minister for Training and Skills Development Shannon Fentiman says it will play a vital role in growing the local economy.

 There has been a call for a public memorial following the 48th anniversary of Cyclone Ada. Member for the Whitsundays Jason Costigan says that it is embarrassing that nothing has been done

A four year old boy has returned home after being attack by a dog on Sunday. Whitsunday Regional Council has released a statement.

 

Mackay's fishing hot spots are under threat after an imported fish was found in the Pioneer River. Keziah Sullivan has more.

Seventy-foot racing yacht 'Visit Seattle' has held off three strong challengers for a maiden victory in the Wonderous Whitsundays Race. 9 News Mackay was there.
