Crash Investigation continues.

The search for the wreckage of a helicopter, which crashed into waters and killed two tourists in March, has been suspended. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau says the investigation into the crash near Hardy Reef is continuing.

Whitsundays chopper crash victims on 'honeymoon of a lifetime'

A Hawaiian couple on their honeymoon were the victims of the helicopter that crashed near the Whitsundays on Wednesday. Pete and Sue Hansel were on their "idyllic honeymoon" when their lives were cut tragically short. The chopper was just 250 metres from its destination - the small Hardy Reef pontoon off Hamilton Island - when it crash-landed into the water.

WEATHER

Sunny. Areas of frost inland in the early morning. Light winds becoming E/SE 15 to 25 km/h in the morning then becoming light in the late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 2 and 8 with daytime temperatures reaching 22 to 28.
