A North Mackay resident has had a lucky escape from a car smashing through her front fence. The 83 year old woman was sitting in her rumpus room when a stolen Ute flew through at speed. She luckily wasn’t injured, but was alarmed to see the extent of the damage. Police pursued the driver and a passenger who allegedly fled on foot

An East Mackay woman’s car has turned up over 1,000kms away. Her keys were stolen from her Goldsmith Street home over a week ago. Police confirming they'd found it smashed up after a traffic crash.

King tides are expected for the Mackay Outer Harbour At 11:30 this morning the local area will experience it's highest summer tide at just over six metres. Locals asked to be careful if they're around the water today.

PETA are urging Mackay locals to go Vegan for a month following obesity statistics. Swapping cholesterol laden meat, eggs, and dairy is one way locals can start to trim down the kilos. While cutting out the meat may seem like a hard slog PETA are offering vegan starter kits through their website

Mackay Regional Council are saying works on Lamberts Beach won't start just yet. The ravaged Cyclone Debbie area needing some major works done before another front hits. Funding approved for the restoration but it looks like it won't be started until the west season is over. 

Local Mackay Bravehearts volunteer Shanade Lynch is standing up to make a difference. She has been selling Krispy Kreme donuts to raise funds for the organisation. Ms Lynch says doughnuts aren’t the only thing that people can order

Council has officially launched their bold bid to attract big developments to waterfront areas near the CBD.

It's been a busy season for turtle watchers, with dozens of baby Flatback Turtles making the mad dash from their nests to the water.

Mackay local Cooper Whitesytles never thought his wheelchair basketball career would take off. He’s now in line to be selected for the under 23 wheelchair basketball side for the world championships in 2021. The 18 year old finding his niche and not looking back since.

A Worlds Gym is opening in Mackay. The old Bunnings site finally with some new tenants. It's sat empty for the past two years. The owners are hoping to open by May this year.

Winds becoming variable about 10 knots after dawn then becoming easterly 10 to 15 knots late morning, reaching up to 20 knots at times in the late evening. Winds tending northeasterly inshore south of Sarina during the afternoon. Seas Below 1 metre, decreasing below 0.5 metres during the morning, then increasing to around 1 metre around midday. Swell cEast to northeasterly around 1 metre offshore.
