A Mackay man has been charged with four offences relating to public nuisance. The 55 year old man allegedly went to a business on Endeavour Street yelling and swearing at staff. Police arrived on scene around 9pm on March 9 to speak with him. It is also alleged he exposed himself in public, peeing in the open and was carrying a knife. He'll appear in Mackay Magistrates Court later this month

A caretaker is woken by an audible alarm in Paget. The man was asleep around 7 Sunday morning when the alarm was activated on Centurion Drive. He saw a man moving inside the compound before confronting him. If you have any information please call Mackay Police 

Member for Mackay Julieanne Gilbert is calling on Whitsunday Councils to apply for a share in a State Government grant. The Maturing Infrastructure Pipeline program divvying up 22 million dollars to Queensland Councils. The program funds strategic planning, the perpetration of business cases and the design of infrastructure projects. Applications are open now and close April 9

KAP leader Robbie Katter wants to see border lines changed in Queensland, from Rockhampton to the North. He's calling on the premier to fund an investigation into the North becoming our own state. Mr Katter says change is only going to happen one way. 

The weather system continues to strengthen. The system will be named "TC Linda" if it becomes a cyclone. Nitso from Oz Cyclone Chasers spoke with Jay & Dave. 

LOCAL SPORT 

Mackay locals show their dirty side. Some twelve hundred locals turning out to Rowallan Park for Obstacle Hell on Saturday. Event organisers were chuffed by the turnout promising it'll be back next year

Around 80 competitors roll at the C-Q Brazilian Jiu Jitsu titles. The event saw athletes from Mackay, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Moranbah, Townsville and Brissy head to the region. Of the 80 competitors, 30 were from Mackay's two B-J-J clubs Mackay MMA and Fight Club Jiu Jitsu

WEATHER

MACKAY & WHITSUNDAYS:  Partly cloudy. Medium chance of showers along the coastal fringe, slight chance elsewhere. Light winds becoming SE 15 to 25 km/h in the morning. Overnight temperatures falling to between 16 and 21 with daytime temperatures reaching around 30. 

ON THE WATERS: Southeasterly 15 to 20 knots, increasing to 20 to 25 knots during the morning. Winds reaching up to 30 knots offshore south of Mackay in the late evening. Seas 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres offshore. Swell East to southeasterly around 1 metre offshore.

STRONG WIND WARNING: A low pressure system lies over the northeastern Coral Sea and will most likely move south today before then taking on a more south southwestwards track from Tuesday, possibly strengthening winds over Mackay waters late Tuesday into Wednesday. However, there is some uncertainty associated with the movement and intensity of this system.
