Police are asking for some help from Slade Point residents.cAn alleged assault happening at the rocky area of Lamberts beach off Pacific Esplanade. The man approaching two girls and after chatting with them, it's believed he tried to assault them. It happened around 1pm on Friday. Call Crime stoppers if you saw anything.

 

 

 

A Mackay business has been held at ransom for thousands of dollars after hackers compromised their computer system.

Police are wanting to speak to anyone who might have seen an attempted theft in Slade Point. A burglar forcing entry into a home and taking an Ipad, car keys and wallet. The residents ford ranger in the driveway then opened but the burglar running off leaving everything behind.

The CEO of Mackay sugars moving onto another role. Jason Lowry resigning immediately from the company after being in the role since 20-15. A chemical engineer turned manager, he moved to Mackay from the United States over five years ago.

Mackay regional council's community grants are now open for not for profit groups. There's over eighty- two thousand dollars available for the third round of the grants. Councillor Frann Mann says that there will be one more round of grants this financial year

A local Mackay business owner has stepped in to shoot the 20-18 RSPCA calendar. Coffee and Hops Fiona Craul says that they used Facebook to vote for the models

The BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Aliiance has taken on 40 Apprentices across Central Queensland. Keziah Sullivan from 9 News Mackay has the story. 

LOCAL SPORT

The Magpie Crusaders are ready for another win in Mackay. Smashing newly formed Wide Bay Buccaneers on Saturday night in Rocky, 3 to 1. They'll take on Olympic football club this week at home.

Table Tennis Australia are set to announce their commonwealth games teams but a Mackay local is aiming for next year. Rebekah Stanley just missing out from taking the win at her first 20-18 national competition. She's hoping some more training will see her advance even further at her nest comp.
