The Federal Government pledges over $50M to infrastructure projects benefiting Nth Queensland. The projects including links to roads connecting communities and regional towns to ports and airports

Federal Member for Dawson George Christensen says funding for North Queensland shines ahead. The Federal Budget release announcing $3.3B for the Bruce Highway with Christensen believing the majority will come North.  Questioning why no specific projects have been announced in the region he says he will hold talks with the Minister about where the money will be spent

One of AUSTRALIAS only wet tropics feedlots will pop up south of Mackay. 2018 Rabobank Young Beef Ambassador Stewart Borg saying he wants to change the opinion of feedlots and their environmental benefits. He says where the property is located at the bottom of a floodplain makes them the last defence for water released into the reef. With the feedlot focusing on strict runoff regulation

Rock of Ages will be at the MECC in Mackay next weekend. The tony award nominated Broadway musical features all those 80’s hits we love including We built this city and The final countdown.

Kevin Fraser is bringing his newest show "CLUB CAN'T HANDLE ME" to Mackay. The comedian says he gets some funny reactions when it comes to one part of his show.

A big weekend of running for Mackay Road Runners again. Hosting the 5 and 10 kilometer race at the weekend's North Queensland Games. First female, Rachel Silvestri running brilliantly to place third overall and first in her age category with a time just shy of nineteen and a half minutes

Mackay roller derby queens fall at the Great Barrier Grief 20-18 comp. The ladies increasing the loss margin in a grudge match against The Little Murdermaids. The two teams going head to head Sunday with the Mackay City Roller Maidens losing 140 - 151

WEATHER
The chance of morning fog. Mostly sunny afternoon. Light winds becoming E/SE 15 to 20 km/h in the middle of the day then becoming light in the late afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 13 and 19 with daytime temperatures reaching 27 to 32.
