The latest domestic violence stats show Mackay has had 38 DVO breaches in the last year. White Ribbons Executive Manager Peter Opio says violence towards women is a learned behaviour.

Mackay has all eyes on the next big thing in Rugby League. Rayden Burns has been selected to play in the Mal Meninga Under 18s for a second year. Making his debut for the Cutters this year he's already made some appearances in the Under 20s matches. He was also a key player in Mackay Brothers 42-18 grand final win over Souths Sharks this season
