MACKAY CUTTERS VS EAST TIGERS – SATURDAY

FOOTY FANS, GET READY as THE QCCS MACKAY CUTTERS play another home game this Saturday night for Round 8! See them take on the EAST TIGERS LIVE this Saturday from BB Print Stadium. Gates open from 1:30pm – main game from 7pm. Also, take a pic in the Cutters Selfie Fame and upload it to the Cutters Facebook Page and you could score yourself a $100.00 Harvey Norman Mackay Gift Card and a double pass to the next home game!

SARINA RELAY FOR LIFE – SATURDAY

Cyclone Debbie may have put a hold on things this year but that won’t stop everyone having yet another fun filled Relay! It’s going to be another night of jam packed fun!! There’s going to be plenty to see and do at this year’s big birthday Bash! It’s on at Sarina Showground from 2pm Saturday and runs overnight for 18 hours.

FRED SMITH: DUST OF URUZGAN – SATURDAY

Dust of Uruzgan is a collection of songs Fred wrote while working as diplomat alongside Australian soldiers in Uruzgan Province, southern Afghanistan. The show combines songs, humour, and commentary with a stunning set of images from military and civilian photographers. His songs are stories put to well-crafted music; telling the real life experiences of some 20,000 Australian soldiers who served in Afghanistan. Fred's experiences in Uruzgan are also the subject of an Australian Story feature, a critically acclaimed album and now, his new book ‘The Dust of Uruzgan’ published in September by Allen and Unwin. Fred is playing at the MECC Saturday at 7:30pm & tickets are $32.

ANZAC CITY VS COUNTRY AFL MATCH – TUESDAY

AFL Football returns to Harrup Park this ANZAC Day. The traditional City v Country matches will be on. The teams have been announced with players from the Mackay City Hawks North Mackay Saints and Eastern Swans making up the men’s City team. Join the teams as they pay tribute to our diggers this Anzac day at Harrup Park. Commemorations, a huge two up tent, and two games of city versus country AFL on the main oval from midday. Harrup Park is proud to be the official venue of the RSL Mackay sub-branch. 

TIMEZONE – BOTH DAYS

There’s plenty of excitement for the kids at Timezone, where they can play video games, a little Air Hockey, bowling and even Laser Tag. It opens up from 9am until late at Canelands.

LEARN TO SKATE WORKSHOP – SATURDAY

Learn to skate in a family friendly atmosphere by an accredited skateboarding coach. Workshops cater to all ages and skills. Boys and girls welcome. Places are limited

NETFLIX DAY – ALL WEEKEND

Spend some time with the kids on the couch with popcorn and Netflix! Some of the movies they will like include Ella Enchanted, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, and even The Cat In The Hat.

DUDLEY DENNY CITY LIBRARY – ALL WEEKEND

Now open, the Dudley Denny City Library has a layout that is both open-plan and packed with features. Not only is there 30 percent more space than the old City Library, this facility boasts the latest technological innovations designed to bring our community into the hi-tech future. From big screens to interactive floor projectors, laptop vending machines to collaborative media screens that talk to mobile devices, a 3D printer, the latest in gaming systems and even a “smart” shelf that checks books in by itself – this library has it all and much more. It’s open Saturdays 9am-3pm and Sundays 10am-2pm

ZUMBA – SUNDAY

Dance up a storm in the Mackay City Centre at this dance fitness party set to Latin music. These classes are provided free of charge thanks Active in the City, an initiative of Mackay Regional Council.
