A thief has struck not once but twice in Sarina. The burglar was frightened off from a home on Dawson Street around 4:30 yesterday morning. Allegedly taking a wallet and multiple keys. Police further allege they came back less than five minutes later using the keys to steal a Pajero. If you have any information on the incident call Crimestoppers

A Digital SLR Camera and bag has been handed in to Police at Canelands. The owner is currently unknown and POLICE are hoping to reunite them. They were found on August first and were handed over to authorities from Centre staff yesterday. If you are missing the RICOH KR10 contact Mackay Police.

Mackay's men's sheds are helping local men with social isolation. It's Men's Shed Week and clubs across the region are aiming to raise awareness around some of the work they do in the community. Members at Iona Wests Mens Shed are meeting every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday to work on projects to benefit the region. Shed Association Officer David Helmers says these sheds are filling a void in some men's lives

The Sun and Sand of Northern Queensland are calling back ex Mackay player Ben Barba. He's been playing for Saint Helens in the UK Super League where he currently leads all players with 26 tries for the season. The 20-19 season sees him coming home to play for the North Queensland Cowboys on a one year deal

Mere days after opening Mackay's Sugar Bowl has come alive. The park is currently hosting Rumble The Reef with today marking the final day of qualifying action. As part of the carnival Skateboarding Coach Shane Fraser is in town to help promote the sport
