A young boy has fractured his back in eight places after jumping off a cliff.
Miraculously, the boy managed to ride his bike home after the accident, despite the seriousness of his injuries.
The 12-year-old had jumped from a 20m tall cliff in the Mornington Peninsula at Moorooduc quarry yesterday, and was badly winded and in severe pain after being pulled from the water by a nearby adult.
His mother wasn't aware of the extent of the damage until she took the boy to hospital several hours later.
According to news.com.au, the hospital has recorded several similar incidents involving children jumping from heights.
