Etihad Stadium is getting a new name.
The Walt Disney Company Australia has penned an eight-year deal that will see it called Marvel Stadium from September 1, 2018.
Under the agreement, a premium Marvel retail store and a "host of other activations" will open inside the venue.
"Marvel is a powerhouse in the entertainment industry and one of the most recognised brand names in the world," said Melbourne Stadiums Limited CEO Michael Green. "This partnership will allow us to take the stadium atmosphere to the next level."
The venue has been known as Etihad Stadium since 2009, when Etihad Airways secured naming rights.
Before that it was known as the Telstra Dome.
