Earthcore Founder Spiro Boursine Has Died While In Police Custody At A Melbourne Bar Spiro Boursine

Founder of dance festival Earthcore, Spiro Boursine, has passed away whilst in police custody in an Elsternwick bar.

Police were called to Antique Bar in Elsternwick at 2.15am Saturday morning, after reports of a man assaulting patrons.

The man (who's identity will not be confirmed by police) was being held down by patrons when police arrived.

The man then lost consciousness, with police attempting to revive him until Ambulance Victoria arrived.

The man then died at the scene.

A post made on the festival's Facebook page last night reads "The show must go on", suggesting that this year's Earthcore event in Victoria will attempt to go ahead as planned.

Boursine launched Earthcore in 1993.
