Five people have been taken to hospital after a nasty car crash in Melbourne early on Saturday morning.
The car crashed into the brick wall of a retirement village in Vermont at around 12:15am on Saturday morning.
A 30-year-old passenger was stuck in the car for an hour before being freed by emergency services, and was taken to hospital.
He went there alongside a 21-year-old male driver and three female teenagers who were sitting in the back.
"We believe that speed is a factor in relation to this collision," Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Thomas told Channel 9.
"We're also looking at the possibility of drugs and/or alcohol, but at this stage, those enquiries are ongoing."
