Flights to Melbourne have been cancelled due to a thick blanket of fog over the city.
Qantas and Virgin Australia have cancelled several flights into Melbourne due to the foggy conditions on Monday morning.
A Virgin Australia spokeswoman said about five or six flights inbound and outbound flights were cancelled.
Melbourne Airport had issued flight restrictions for the airlines for Monday morning, based on the forecast.
A handful of domestic inbound flights are also delayed as they have been unable to land in the fog as they do not have the capability, a Melbourne Airport spokeswoman says.
Most planes are equipped with technology to land in fog, but some smaller planes can't.
The fog lifted earlier than expected, a Qantas spokesman said.
