It appears the planned demolition of Anglesea’s power station didn’t quite to to plan today.
How do we know? The structure is still standing.
The six-story structure was meant to be demolished using a controlled explosion this morning.
But while residents heard the predicted loud bang, after midday today, the main structure is still standing.
“Following twelve months of planning and preparation, the controlled demolition will take approximately 10-20 seconds,” an Alcoa spokeswoman told the Geelong Advertiser earlier
“The event may be audible in Anglesea … and is expected to sound like claps of thunder.”
