The heavens are tipped to open in Melbourne later this week.
South-eastern Australia will be slapped by a huge cold front on Wednesday night, with freezing temperatures and lots of rain on the way.
After 19 degrees on Wednesday, the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting the maximum to reach a miserable 13 on both Thursday and Friday.
With that comes rain. And lots of it.
The Bureau is tipping one to six millimetres on Wednesday night, five to 15 millimetres on Thursday, a whopping 25 to 80 millimetres on Friday and a further four to 40 millimetres on Saturday.
The city could well and truly see 100 millimetres fall across the back half of the week, on current forecasts.
It's a level of rain we haven't seen for a while.
