Feel there’s a chill in the air? You’d be right.
Flemington is set to shiver today with forecasters predicting the coldest Melbourne Cup in a decade.
Temperatures will hit a high of just 16 degrees today, with a cool breeze and showers expected, Bureau of Meteorology says.
"It will be a cool Cup Day and will probably be the coldest since 2006," senior forecaster Rod Dickson said.
Showers are expected to clear in time for the race.
"It will be cool and grey morning but there will be a bit of sunshine... it should be quite a fine afternoon," Mr Dickson said.
If you’re sick of this weather, don’t stress. It’s expected to clear when everyone heads back to work on Wednesday and the weekend will, thankfully, be sunny and warm.
Flemington fans won't be strangers to wild racing weather, with punters experiencing severe rain and cold weather on Oaks Day in 2015 (as pictured).
