Melbourne Man Who Rammed Police Car Caught At KFC Drive-Through

A 20-year-old Narre Warren man accused of a destructive police pursuit has been undone by a late-night KFC run.

Officers first sought to intercept a Magna on the Princes Highway, Mulgrave at about 9:50pm on Monday night after it was spotted driving erratically.

The driver pelted an object at the squad car and sped south before entering the service slip road on Princes Highway where another police vehicle was patrolling.

The Magna allegedly side swiped that car before continuing south on Springvale Road, Springvale. The officer behind the wheel received a minor injury.

At 10:10pm the car was again sighted driving erratically, then pulling into the KFC drive-through at the Springvale Junction.

When officers approached he tried to get away again, striking the restaurant and a stationary car before he was finally apprehended.

The 20-year-old is expected to be charged with a number of offences including evade police, discharge a weapon, speed dangerous, careless drive, fail to stop after an accident, fail to render assistance after an accident, possess drug of dependence, refuse breath test and several other traffic offence offences.

No word on whether he got to eat the KFC.
