After a signal fault caused a massive outage of trains yesterday afternoon across Melbourne, Metro Trains have offered those affected an automatic refund.
Here is what they had to say in a written statement:
PASSENGER DISRUPTION REFUNDS - Metro Trains
Yesterday afternoon metropolitan train services were disrupted by an issue with our train control computer system, which prevented us from safely running trains across the network.
In recognition of the inconvenience our passengers experienced, we will be issuing an automatic refund to those who were affected.
Passengers that touched on in the metropolitan train network between 3pm and 7pm will be reimbursed for the cost of their two-hour fare.
Both myki money and myki pass passengers travelling on a full fare will be reimbursed $4.10 and concession travellers will receive $2.05.
These refunds will be processed automatically over the next 30 days – passengers do not need to fill out an application form.
