Punched A 16 Year Old Boy

Police Hunt Bundoora Tram Attacker

Victoria Police are hunting this young man who looks like this, believed to be behind a violent tram assault at Bundoora last month.

The incident happened on a city-bound Route 86 tram on Plenty Road just after 4pm on Monday 29 May.

A group of two men and two women boarded at the Bundoora Shopping Centre. As they travelled, one of the men in the group moved to the outside of the tram and surfed several stops before reboarding.

After getting back inside the tram, he approached a 16-year-old Thornbury boy, punching him in the head and upper body.

Two other male passengers intervened in the assault, separating the offender from the victim and assisting the boy off the tram.

The offender is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, in his mid to late teens, thin build, with short black hair.

Investigators have released a computer-generated image of a suspect they want to speak with, and hope anyone with information contacts Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
