Melbourne has been named the World’s Most Liveable City for an incredible seventh-straight year.
The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Liveability Index ranks 140 of the world’s best cities and once again, Melbourne has come out on top – securing perfect scores for healthcare, education and infrastructure.
Melbourne pipped Vienna for the top ranking, and finished well above Sydney, which did not make the top ten. Adelaide was the only other Australian city on the list.
“This is a win for all Victorians, who contribute so much to making Melbourne the best place to live in the world,” Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews said.
Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren added:
“Every Melburnian knows that they're living in the world's greatest city – and this proves it yet again.” “Victoria has the best of everything – big events, great schools and more jobs than anywhere in the country.”
