Three Yarra Trams employees have been stood down following complaints about a stripper being hosted at their unofficial Christmas party.

Two employees complained about the incident, according to Fairfax.

The party was organised by the depot’s employee-run social club and not the company itself.

The event — which was separate to the company’s corporate Christmas party — was hosted at Aghadeer Restaurant Brunswick on Sydney Road, and was for the Brunswick depot.

The stripper was believed to be a ‘fat-o-gram’.

Fairfax reports that she arrived in a French maid’s outfit and performed for an employee who was retiring at the end of 2017.

Yarra Trams has launched an independent investigation.

"The actions of the event organisers are unacceptable and do not align with Yarra Trams values," a Yarra Trams spokesman told Fairfax.

"Action is being taken to prevent this happening again."
